Reiki (pronounced ‘ray-kee’) is commonly perceived to be (only) a form of spiritual healing. However Reiki is more than this: Reiki is now also increasingly regarded as a belief and behaviour approach towards personal fulfillment, whose principles and philosophy can explain and achieve better life-balance and well-being; enable the furthering of self-development and discovery, as well as being a remarkable healing and recovery treatment

At a simple level, Rei (pronounced ‘ray’ – this first syllable is stressed) is generally considered to signify ‘Soul or Spirit’ and Ki (pronounce ‘key’) is generally regarded as meaning literally ‘atmosphere, air, universe’ and more philosophically: ‘Life Force’, hence, Reiki assumes a typical translation meaning ‘Universal Life Force’.

The seven chakras :

  • Crown (top of the head)
  • Brow (lower forehead, between eyes)
  • Throat (base of neck)
  • Heart (centre of chest)
  • Solar plexus (between the navel and base of sternum, which is the central vertical bone in the rib-cage)
  • Lower abdomen/lower back (below navel)
  • Base of the spine

This is about a type of Reiki energy that specifies in the concept of karma and dealing with the various issues that arise from negative karmic events. We may be familiar with the terms “good” or “bad” karma. It is said that everything we do is reflected back to us. So if we go through life sending out love, we will get love back. If we are hateful, we will only find hate in others. This is because whatever vibrations we send out into our aura, will attract people and situations of the same vibration.

Our soul’s purpose of taking birth and rebirth is to heal our Karma. This can be in various forms. Trauma in a past life, can lead to illnesses in the present life. Or a negative relationship in a past life can lead to failing relationships in the next life.

This is the simplest form of healing and self development system that exists!

Kundalini means that certain healing channels and chakras have been opened, and you have thereby gained access to the Earth’s energy which is a part of the universal energy.

The Root chakra, which is the energy centre located near the coccyx, acts as an entrance for the Kundalini energy

The Kundalini energy is also referred to as “The Kundalini Fire”. Hereafter the energy runs all the way up through the body, through the main energy channel, and out of the crown chakra.

This energy channel goes from the Root Chakra to the Crown chakra on the top of the head. An open kundalini means that over a period of time, a complete cleansing of the chakras, the body parts and the energy channels is obtained.
